If you’re looking to remodel in 2021, take note of these top home design trends. From kitchens to baths, home design is looking fresh and clean and bright. These trends touch on everything from tile to cabinets and more.
Home Trend #1 – Japandi Design
Japandi design made the Pinterest 2021 home trend list because so many users were pinning looks like this. Pinterest calls it “the new minimalism.” Think Scandinavian meets Japanese design, with a focus on sleek lines, neutral color schemes and calming setups.
Home Trend #2 – Marble Mayhem
Marble offers the perfect means to walk that ever-elusive line between trendy and timeless. Take a look at this backsplash we recently did with FD Design for some inspiration. According to Homes and Gardens, the stronger the vein the better!
Home Trend #3- Green with envy!
The olive tones are taking over, thanks in large part to the emergence of house plants as decor. That’s why Refinery29 lists “nature-inspired palettes” as one of its 2021 home trends. From sage to emerald to turquoise, shades of green are looking very popular. With a look like this one from The Sursy, we call it a welcome change!
Home Trend #4 – Big Bathroom Tiles
According to Better Homes & Gardens, the bathroom is one place where you should go big or go home. We’ve seen that trend firsthand too. For both bathroom walls and floors, 12” x 24” tiles are super popular, and even larger 24” x 48” tiles are having a moment as well! This bathroom we collaborated on with Jarrett Design shows how to do the big tiles sizes right.
Home Trend #5 – Cabinet Organization
This one is for all you neat freaks out there. Cabinet organization options are seeing a real boost in 2021, especially designated charging areas, according to the NKBA. If your budget allows it, paying a little extra for these perks can go a long way towards keeping you sane and organized in the new year!
